Infrastructure assets are the backbone of our communities, supporting quality of life, well-being, and shared purpose. This congress explores how asset management advances the four well-beings and how the practice of asset management can evolve into the future, as informed by our global connections.

All around the world the post WWII infrastructure boom is approaching its end of life. The challenge of meeting community expectations of both service continuity and increasing functionality is coming head to head with renewal capacity and financial constraints, regardless of nation or geography.

While New Zealand’s cultural context provides us with a depth of insight into the obligations and opportunities that asset management embraces, we also have much to learn from other jurisdictions.

Leaning on our global connections to help us raise our gaze beyond our horizon will reveal our own challenges in a new light, instilling a sense of pride in what we are already doing, or motivating us to emulate in a better way.
