The breadth and scope of Ventia’s business and capabilities allows us to provide timely and robust hazard and disaster response to communities across Aotearoa.

We are a NZX listed company with tikanga embedded in our corporate values; Manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga are the purpose that drives our people to deliver service excellence.

Ventia provides essential services across Aotearoa New Zealand, looking after key lifeline assets. We maintain and operate roads, power, water, telecommunications, facilities such as hospitals, local government infrastructure and buildings .

The storms this year had a very human aspect to them, causing major impact on families, businesses, the environment and communities. When the storms hit New Zealand in January and February, we were out in all-weather tending to essential lifelines and helping reconnect communities.

As kaitiaki of these key lifeline networks we wanted to do the best we could for the communities we work in.

Whether this was reconnecting power to Hawkes Bay, draining and reopening Fanshawe Street, ensuring clean potable water for communities, or clearing roads in the Coromandel, our team had to show manaakitanga in all they did. Often the mahi we were doing each day was saving lives, or reducing the impact of the storms on the people we live near, including our own employees.
